The Journal of Law and Administration was registered as a mass media publication in 2004 on the initiative of the scientists of the International Institute of Administration.  R.V. Engibaryan, Doctor of Law, Professor, Merited Fellow of Science of the Russian Federation became  editor-in-chief.

The editorial board of the Journal included prominent Russian scientists - Professor A.V. Torkunov, the rector of the MGIMO under  the MFA of Russia, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor L.M. Entin , Doctor of Law, Merited Fellow of Science of the Russian Federation,  and other major specialists in the field of law and political sciences.

Over the past years hundreds of  eminent Russian experts in law and administration have contributed to the Journal. The articles published cover issues that are of great interest for modern legal science and public administration.

The Journal actively cooperates with major foreign scientists. Scholars of well-known European universities are included in the editorial and scientific councils of the Journal. Articles in English are becoming a regular feature of the Journal. The geography of cooperation with foreign authors is constantly expanding.
